Double Podium at the Full Throttle Champs!

Last weekend kicked off the indoor season for Gizmo Racing USA and we came out with a bang!  The 2 man team consisting of Guillaume Herve and yours truly had a pretty successful first outing on the new High Grip CRC black carpet.  I was able to pilot my GZ1 to a 3rd place finish in the Triple A Mains closely behind Nationial Champions Kyle Klingforth and Eric Anderson.  Finishing 2 seconds behind the eventual winner “EA” in both A2 and A3 from 5th on the grid.

In the Modified class, my Hobbywing Powered GZ1 carried me to a second place qualifying position, where I would finish in the mains behind Current ROAR Carpet National Champion Chris Adams, who is a local at Banana Raceway.  Chris was truly in a class of his own, and managed to TQ by about4-5 seconds over me and won A1 and A2 with about the same margin.  To secure my overall second place, I did manage to win A3 going away from Kyle Klingforth who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Both my cars were pretty good.  I can’t say that the set-ups are at 100%, but considering the circumstances, they definitely got the job done.  Double podium on the new black rug, the first time out, is a great accomplishment for our little platform.  We are definitely excited to build on this for the future, upcoming racing season.

  1. Congrats on the double podiums! I cannot wait for indoor season to start so I can run the GZ1. It looks amazing.
